Great ideas for family fun when money is tight Posted On 26 May 2022

Keep the kids entertained without spending a penny

The Easter holidays have only just finished, right?

Unfortunately not and the six week long school holidays are only just around the corner.

The yearly struggle of thinking of ways to keep little ones entertained may have already started for some as they plan on activities and days out for their children to last the long summer.

However, goes to all manner of places multiple times a week during the six weeks will certainly add up financially and put a big strain on the bank account.

To help those looking for some free days out, we have collected together a few suggestions of what you can do without spending a penny.

When the sun is out one of the first places that comes to mind for a day out is the beach, and you still cannot beat it.

While tourist trap popular beaches can be a money sink, with all manner of fairground rides, a plethora of ice cream vendors and of course that old donkey accepting rides from little ones, heading out to a more remote beach along the coast can be a brilliant way to spend the day.

A quieter beach removes the temptation to overspend on expensive wares, while also offering the chance to experience a new beach that you may have never even realised existed.

And let’s face it, what child can resist a good day by the seaside?

Another great day out without spending a penny is heading to your local museum.

Whether it is the main reason for your trip out or as an addition to a city visit, museum can offer a fascinating insight and educational experience on all manner of subjects.

Whether heading to a historical, scientific or a hands-on nature site, wherever your destination is, there is sure to be a fascinating museum to learn something new in.

The UK is teeming with nature and a great way of spending a day is to explore a forest.

There are a whole host across the country, with little ones able to see what wildlife they can spot while exploring.
